University of Maryland’s Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center is more than a building to host your wedding, it is a story that continues to be written. It is an elegant venue that, while functional, is also warm and welcoming and perfect for your romantic wedding ceremony and reception—and whether you are a Maryland alumnus or a friend, you and your spouse can write yourself into the narrative. The space has a beautiful outdoor garden setting ideal for nuptials under the blue, cloudless sky and shining sun. With a paved, brick aisle and reflecting pool, your outdoor ceremony will be peaceful and inviting and will create a lovely, intimate ambience. Your guests can then enjoy a gorgeous cocktail hour in the foyer space with floor to ceiling windows and crisp, elegant décor while you and your spouse take your wedding photos on the beautiful grounds of campus. For the reception, the space’s high ceilings and unique lighting options will add to the elegance of the entire celebration. The space is perfect for eating, drinking, and dancing and is sure to host an unforgettable wedding celebration.

Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $5,000 to $12,500 for a reception and includes 4 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. The fee for a ceremony starts at $800. Additional hours can be arranged for a fee of $350/hr. Catering is not included in rental fee.
