Tetsu is a modern Japanese restaurant housed in an historic 1860s building in TriBeCa. It’s got a moody, industrial vibe featuring a suspended mezzanine that allows a look into the open kitchen. Tetsu’s foundations are rooted in “robata,” which it describes as “the center place of traditional Japanese homes.” Gather your wedding party around the 18-seat counter, or rent out the space for an evening of family-style fare. Stews, noodles, and rice dishes grace the menu, along with a variety of meats listed by cooking method: sizzling, grilled, fried, and raw, with daily fish specials. The Raw Bar offers sashimi and seafood cocktails, featuring grandiose seafood platters; tartares and caviar; and the Omakase menu, which is the recipient of two Michelin stars.
