Located in the heart of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and one block from the Chicago River, the InterContinental Hotel provides an elegant space for your big day. Originally built in 1929 as the Medinah Athletic Club, a luxury men's club for members of the Shrine organization. After a multi-million dollar renovation, the hotel has been restored to its former glory. Imagine an elegant ceremony in the Renaissance room. Located on the seventh floor with a balcony one story above, the stunning room is designed in an unusual elliptical shape. Around the ceiling are 37 hand-painted murals of classical landscape scenes that were taken down and restored by the artist who consulted on the restoration of the Sistine Chapel. He also added 24-karat gold leaf to the moldings surrounding the paintings and the 12,000-pound Baccarat crystal chandelier, the largest in North America. Time Restrictions

Set up time can start at 5:00PM. Events must end by 2:00AM.

Rental Fees

There is no rental fee for the reception but there is a food and beverage minimum applied to all events. The venue allows 6 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. The set up fee for a wedding ceremony ranges from $500 to $750 and includes an extra hour of event time. Additional hours can be arranged. Please inquire with venue wedding coordinator for more details.
