The 2018 wedding weekend of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas in India drew global attention for the multiple wedding ensembles, the fireworks, and the 75-foot bridal veil. With six tiers and a lit chandelier inside, the pair’s wedding cake managed to match the luxury of the celebration. The massive white and gold cake resembled a castle with decorative columns, arches, balconies, and flowers.

The rapper and entrepreneur had a lavish all-white wedding accented with diamonds and crystals (the bride carried diamond bouquet instead of traditional flowers). The towering wedding cake (white, of course!) stood about ten feet tall and cost a reported $75,000. About 8,000 sugar flowers covered the four-tier cake, and each layer featured a different flavor, including red velvet, banana nut, Jamaican rum, and carrot, according to People

3. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

Not surprisingly, the quirky couple enjoyed a beautiful, somewhat offbeat confection — a naked, three-tier carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and wild botanicals bursting out between the tiers. Teigen and Legend married on the terrace of a villa overlooking Lake Como in Italy in September 2013. About five years after their wedding, Teigen posted a picture of the beautiful and delicious-looking cake, writing: “I miss you, giant cake.”

Every detail of Paltrow’s wedding to Brad Falchuk on Long Island in 2018 was Goop-worthy — including the mini wedding cakes. The couple served individual frosted cakes to guests, giving them the choice of carrot cake or vanilla and chocolate.

For their December 23, 2018 wedding in their Nashville, Tennessee home, the singer and actor kept it casual. They invited a few family members and friends to share the celebration, and they cut into a simple double-tiered wedding cake with textured white frosting. Some of the festivities took place in the kitchen, with the cake sitting on an overturned painted-wood crate for a rustic feel. Pretty roses and greenery add a touch of color to the understated cake.

The sophisticated couple chose a striking Art Deco cake for their September 2014 wedding in Venice, Italy. The actor and human rights lawyer wed at the luxurious Aman Canal Grande hotel in an intimate ceremony and reception. The four-tier chocolate cake showcased arrows and angular lines in gold leaf on a classic white cake, and an architectural fanned design on the top layer.

The pair are no longer married (Cuoco has remarried), but the cake from their 2013 wedding made a lasting impression. The tiered white cake hung upside down from the ceiling under a chandelier. Cuoco had to bend her knees to cut a piece, and her new husband smashed the cake in her face — in retrospect, perhaps a bad sign.

8. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

About 30 million Americans watched Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle on the broadcast of their nuptials at Windsor Castle in May 2018. Though the public didn’t have access to the reception, the official Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a picture of the wedding cake. Traditionally, royal wedding cakes are fruitcakes, but Harry and Meghan opted for a lemon elderflower cake with simple white buttercream frosting. The four-layer cake was deconstructed on a tiered gilded serving dish and adorned with flowers to match the spring season.

Nat King Cole crooned many of the songs in constant rotation at weddings today for the walk down the aisle, the first dance, and the cutting of the cake. One wonders what was playing as the newlywed Coles cut their classic five-tier white wedding cake during their Easter Sunday wedding in 1948. The cake featured white frosted flowers and intricate piping, as well as an ornate cake topper.

The four-layer cake showcased decorative white flowers winding down from the top to the base, thousands of edible pearls, and shimmering white fondant. The pastry was a perfect ten out of ten.

Oswalt and Salenger had the kids in their life decorate their wedding cake. They ordered an elegant three-tier wedding cake with textured white frosting, along with candies and flowers in many shades of pink. On the day of the wedding, Oswalt’s daughter and Salenger’s nieces added the sweets and flowers to the cake, complete with the initials of the happy couple.

Colorful, life-like edible sugar paste flowers adorned the elegant five-layer cake.

Johnson married singer and music producer Hashian on August 18, 2019, in Hawaii with their daughters, Jasmine Lia and Tiana Gia, and a small group of family and friends on hand for the celebration. Though the actors were married in 2015, their exquisite confection still shows up on memorable celebrity wedding cake rundowns. And it’s easy to see why! The lavish five-tier cake flaunted a chic quilted design and a garden’s bounty of gorgeous white flowers.

For their castle wedding in Ireland, the Beckham’s served an unusual cake, with tiers held aloft by stacked apples and edible greenery covering each layer. Apparently, the cake topper was a nude sculpture of the happy pair. Even still, the cake couldn’t steal the show from the real-life Posh and David, who cut the cake with a sword wearing matching purple ensembles.
