Burr Mansion Overview

Originally built in 1732, the Burr Mansion was home to Thaddeus and Eunice Burr during the American Revolution. Over the years, the Burrs hosted famous guests such as Aaron Burr, Sam Adams, President George Washington, and John Adams. John Hancock married Dorothy Quincy at the mansion in 1775. In 1779, the mansion burnt down during the Burning of Fairfield. John Hancock insisted the Burrs rebuild their home, and it was completed in 1790. The Burr family held the property from the 1600s until the mid-1800s. It was then renovated in the 1800s. In 1962, the Burr Homestead became a Town of Fairfield property and is now managed by Parks and Recreation. Today, the Burr Mansion stands at 739 Old Post Road in the heart of Fairfield’s historic district and is available to host a variety of events. Whether a summer garden wedding, a birthday celebration, an elegant gala, a corporate fundraiser, or a Bat/Bar Mitzvah, the Burr is the perfect venue for any occasion. It is one of the few venues in Fairfield County with an outdoor tent that can hold up to 200 guests. Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $2000 to $5000 for 8 hours (set-up, event, clean-up time). Additional hours are $300/hr. A refundable security deposit of $1,500 is required.
