Nestled away on 30-acres of picturesque grounds is The Palace at Somerset Park. Established in 2005, The Palace is a grand 72,000 square feet Palladian-style mansion. The splendid Newport homes of the Vanderbilts and Astors inspired this unique marriage between Continental craftsmanship and a New World sensibility. The grand sweeping elegance of the main building sets an elegant stage for your wedding extravaganza. Gray St. Germain and Crème a Marfil marble gleams invitingly beneath your feet as you enter the columned East Foyer. Its centerpiece, an antique Tuscan Fountain of tan marble welcomes you to the East House. Designed to reflect the opulence of a 17th century ballroom, the East Ballroom is characterized by unrestrained spaciousness and a 24 foot high ceiling. French doors adorned with elegant blue silk drapes and decorative tassels open to the expansive east terrace and The Palace grounds. The décor of the West Library is characterized by soft, cognac-colored couture fabrics and warm mahogany-toned boiserie. The focal point is an intricately hand-carved, antique French Mansard-style fireplace with painted crest punctuating its beauty. The old world style of the West Ballroom is reminiscent of a 17th century Venetian palazzo. Gold accents complement shades of cream, deep aubergine and lush purple. A 12 foot high antique mantel originating from the north of France adds a warm glow and intimacy to the room. Both venues have a graceful staircase that leads up to the private Kensington Suite with a romantic Juliette balcony to complete the setting.
