Description

Originally constructed as a freight and passenger depot for the Atlanta & West Point Railroad in the 1850s, the Historic Train Depot in Georgia was the site of an encounter between Federal and Confederate forces in July 1864. When your guests arrive to your unique wedding, they will be delighted by the building’s location just two blocks from the historic center of town, the rustic charm and the convenience of attending an event there. The brick walls complement most all decorations, which add your special touch to the backdrop. The rustic decor, exposed brick, boarding platform and green space all come together to create a unique venue for your next special occasion. This historic structure is large enough to comfortably hold up to 150 of your family and friends for a sit down meal with still room for a DJ/Band and dance floor. Walk down the aisle to your future wife or husband while a musician plays live if you wish. The indoor reception room is rich with history, vintage and has a barn- wedding feel.

Time Restrictions

Renters often pick up the key the night before at the McRitchie-Hollis Museum at 74 Jackson St. in downtown Newnan. Entry is allowed at 9:00 a.m. and guests must be dispersed by midnight. Noise ordinance goes into effect at 11:00 p.m.

Rental Fees

The rental fee ranges from $800 to $1,200 for a ceremony and reception and includes the hours of 9:00 a.m to midnight. A refundable security deposit of $400 is required. Half day and full weekend rentals are available. Please inquire with venue for details.

The average wedding cost at The Historic Train Depot is estimated at between $4,820 and $7,350 for a ceremony & reception for 100 guests.
