Once the summer retreat home to Hawaii's royal family, Queen Emma Kaleleonalani Rooke, her husband Kamehameha IV, and their son Prince Albert Edward from 1857 to 1885, Queen Emma Summer Palace is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites and is a historic residence located in lush Nu‘uanu Valley. On exhibition at Queen Emma Summer Palace are rare and unique artifacts from the era of Hawaiian Kingdom and Hawai`i's monarchy.
Queen Emma Summer Palace offers both an outdoor and indoor location to host your unforgettable wedding. At the heart of this historic residence is the main house with its charming green shutters and colonial-style pillars, greeting your guests with a quaint ambiance that will set the tone for the rest of the evening. The Prince Albert Terrace envelops your guest in lush tropical greens of Nu‘uanu Park and you can walk down the aisle to cool breezes and the scent of Hawaiian rain. Emmalani Hale provides a unique open-air experience while your guests sip cocktails and gaze at the most romantic island wedding possible. And for a very unique experience, guests of the bride and groom are welcomed to enter the palace for a self-guided tour.

Time Restrictions

Usage fees are for a maximum nine (9) hour rental: set-up, event, clean-up. Rental times are from 8am - 5pm OR 1pm - 10pm. Evening events must vacate by 10:00 pm.

Rental Fees

The following rental fees apply for 2017:
Prince Albert Terrace - $950 which overlooks Nuuanu Park (wedding ceremonies, cocktail parties, engagement parties, photo shoots/seats up to 50 guests/80 guests standing)
Emmalani Hale: $1200 (wedding receptions/seats up to 100 guests)

Duo rental of Prince Albert Terrace and Emmalani Hale - $1750. A security deposit of $250 and 50% of the rental fee is required. Additional fees may apply. DOH membership discounts available.
