Description

Bartram’s Garden is the birthplace of American botany. The 45-acre site includes the historic botanic garden and the National Historic Landmark Bartram House, the oldest barn in Philadelphia County, a 15-acre wildflower meadow with spectacular views of Center City, a river trail, water garden, tidal wetland, and a boat dock on the Schuylkill River. From small gatherings of 20 or up to 250 guests, you can host your wedding celebration in the lovely garden, meadow, historic buildings and grounds. The Common Flower Garden, first planted by John Bartram in 1731, is available for use with a Coach House rental for wedding ceremonies, cocktails, or small receptions. The porch of the Bartram House is included in the Common Flower Garden rental area. Ceremonies may take place only in the Common Flower Garden. The Barn is the perfect setting for a light cocktail hour. For the evening reception, bring your guests to the charming Coach House featuring an open-beamed ceiling, red brick floor, white-washed walls and a serving bar. This beautiful building opens into a walled brick courtyard. In 2017, events will be held in the customizable Eastwick Pavilion, set atop Eastwick hill overlooking the river.

Time Restrictions

Set up time can start at 4:00PM. Events must end by 10:00PM.

Rental Fees

The rental fee ranges from $3,100 to $3,300 for a ceremony and reception and includes 6 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. Additional hours can be arranged for a fee of $400/hr. A refundable security deposit of $500 is required. Please note, this venue is for rental only and is a DIY venue space.
