A National Historic Landmark, Glessner House was designed by noted American architect Henry Hobson Richardson and completed in 1887. It remains an internationally-known architectural treasure in Chicago. A radical departure from traditional Victorian architecture, the structure served as an inspiration to the young Frank Lloyd Wright and helped redefine domestic architecture. Steeped in Chicago history and tucked away in the Prairie Avenue Historic District of Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, Glessner House provides a distinctive alternative to hotels and banquet halls. Exchange vows in the stunning courtyard, surrounded by distinguished brick architecture and all the people you love. Enjoy a champagne cocktail hour as the sun sets over the courtyard and dinner and dancing under the stars unfolds just as you’ve always imagined. The vaulted ceilings of the Coach House provide the perfect atmosphere for your reception in colder months. 15 minute mini-tours of the home, led by docents and staff who will put as much care into your event as they do into their love and conservation of the house, are available for your guests at no extra cost. For a unique and elegant wedding celebration, look no further than the Glessner House.
