Chef and culinary innovator Jose Andres brings DC yet another spirited Spanish treasure. Penn Quarter’s award-winning Oyamel Cocina Mexicana is classic Mexican cuisine with an urban city spin. The space at Oyamel can accommodate private events of various sizes. Parties of 40 seated guests can enjoy dinner in the private Escondido Room. Larger parties of 68 guests can opt for a semi-private partial buy-out that includes the entire Butterfly Bar area. For private events of up to 170 seated guests, the restaurant offers a full buy-out option. Smaller groups of 16 or less can be accommodated with large communal tables in the main dining room. Private event menus are customizable and range from $40-$70 per person for dinner and $25-$30 per person for lunch. Featured menu items include fresh ahi tuna ceviche, crispy brussels sprouts with chile de arbol sauce, pork belly tacos, and sweet, moist tres leches cake with caramel ice cream.
