Elaine's On Franklin Overview

An intimate, refined space in downtown Chapel Hill, Elaine’s on Franklin serves up culinary delights created by award-winning chef Bret Jennings and is the perfect spot for a rehearsal dinner or reception. Jennings’ style can be described as “sophistication meets farmer’s market,” with the restaurant focusing on sourcing local ingredients. It has been the recipient of the Award of Excellence by the Wine Spectator Magazine for its wine list since 2001, and Jennings himself has been invited to cook at the James Beard House. He has also been featured in Southern Living Magazine. With a mission of “cooking from the heart,” Jennings will bring you and your guests delightful dishes. Think Charleston-style she crab soup with fino sherry; lamb bolognese; and wild North Carolina speckled trout amandine with roasted potatoes. Don’t forget dessert! With creations such as sweet potato pound cake and crème fraiche ice cream and Venezuelan chocolate sorbet on the menu, Elaine’s on Franklin will delight your taste buds and fuel the celebration long into the evening.

There is no rental fee for the reception but there is a food and beverage minimum applied to all events. The venue allows 5 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time.
