Second Empire and Tavern Overview

Located in the historic Dodd-Hinsdale House, the Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern is a very unique restaurant that celebrates American history and treasure. Beauty and grace define this establishment and it stands tall as one of the last remainders of the English style that once characterized every home in the area. the Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern features fourteen foot ceilings and bay windows that surround from every side and allow natural light to illuminate this special space. While the house retains its original exterior since it was established in 1871, the interior has since been refurbished to include more modern amenities and comfortable dining atmosphere. The Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern boasts several different wedding packages that are available for you to pick and choose. Each room seats different sized guest lists and features unique characteristics. For example the glassed atrium room seats 50 people and the Raleigh Room is surrounded by brick walls. Overall the entire restaurant seats 250 people. For a wedding at Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern, a more intimate guest list is preferred. Venue Notes

There is no rental fee for the reception but there is a food and beverage minimum applied to all events. The venue allows 6 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. The set up fee for a wedding ceremony is $100 with reception rental or $500 for a ceremony only wedding. Additional hours can be arranged for a fee of $500/hr. Please note venue is closed Sunday and Monday.
