Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Golden Gate Bridge and all of San Francisco, the Legion of Honor museum is most noted for its enchanting setting. Immerse your guests in a world of old-world grandeur, color, and art as they take in the neoclassical architecture among views of the city; and explore collections of statues, paintings, prints and drawings. Hold your intimate ceremony in the Legion’s Court of Honor, a dazzling open space, with columns around the perimeter and a bronze cast of August Rodin’s Thinker in the middle. After the ceremony, guests can move through all of the galleries for private viewing for your cocktail hour. Meanwhile, you and your bridal party can pose for pictures amidst the columns and on the various steps and staircases of the museum. The entire celebration is moved indoors to one of the designated galleries to end the night with drinks, dinner, dancing, and artwork. With all the fabulous artwork that will surround you and your guests, there is little need to add elaborate décor to dress up the space. However, feel free to add simple touches like menu cards, up-lighting, and candles to reflect your personal style.

Time Restrictions

Set up time can start as early as 4:00PM. Events must end by 1:00AM.

Rental Fees

The rental fee ranges from $6,000 to $25,000 for a reception and includes 4 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. The set up fee for a ceremony ranges from $500 to $1,500. Rental of the entire museum includes access to all the main level galleries, Terrace Level, and Hall of Antiquities. For outdoor receptions held on the Court of Honor, it is required to rent a tent through an external rental company for all weddings. For any catering company used other than McCall Catering, a $1,000 release of liquor license is required. Additional hours can be arranged for a fee of $1,500/hr to $3,000/hr. A refundable security deposit of 50% of the rental fee is required.
