The Dunsmuir Mansion, designed by San Francisco architect, J. Eugene Freeman, is located in the rolling East Bay foothills and features fruit orchards, farms, and vestiges of the Spanish rancho days. The 37-room mansion features a Tiffany-style dome, wood paneled public rooms, 10 fireplaces and inlaid parquet floors within its 16,224 square feet. The Dunsmuir gardens hosts an expansive meadow as well as a wide variety of trees, including Camperdown Elms, Bunya-Bunya and Hornbeam. Sequestered on a wooded hillside overlooking the South Pond and Gazebo area, the Garden Pavilion is the perfect location to exchange your vows. For your reception, a number of sites are available including the Carriage House with its rustic mahogany-paneled Great Room. The expansive meadow reminiscent of English Country Estate provides a tranquil setting for a memorable celebration with your friends and family. The Dunsmuir Mansion, designated as a Historic Landmark by the City of Oakland, combines rich history with a unique setting that will enchant your guests.
