Your Perfect Wedding Weekend Schedule
Transforming a single day of celebration into a weekend of wedding festivities has become all-the-rage for a reason. In today’s busy world, there are only so many opportunities you get to have all of your closest family, friends, and loved ones in one place. Why not extend the fun into the entire weekend? As great as this may sound, many couples find themselves struggling to fit a variety of activities all in one weekend. To make it a little bit easier for you, we’ve created your perfect wedding weekend schedule below to use as a guide for your own big day!
Friday: The Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party
4pm - Rehearsal
Go through the motions with your beloved and your wedding party one last time before the big moment. After all, as Cervantes once said “To be prepared is half the victory.”
6pm - Rehearsal Dinner
After the rehearsal, have an intimate dinner with your nearest and dearest your perfect rehearsal dinner venue. The rehearsal dinner is a precious event during your wedding weekend, as it will give your closest friends and family time to bond in an intimate setting.
8pm - Welcome Party
Have a lot of out of town guests? Consider having a cocktail party, bonfire get together, or similar celebration the evening before the wedding to serve as a kind of icebreaker. This will get the fun started and allow everyone to get to know each other.
10pm - Bedtime
While you can’t help how late your guests stay up, it’s important that the soon-to-be-wed couple and other key members of the wedding party get to bed early so they are fresh and prepared for the big day to come.
Saturday: Your Wedding Day
The schedule of your wedding day will obviously rely heavily on when and where you have decided to have your wedding. No matter which way you’ve decided to celebrate, just be sure to give yourself ample time for hair, makeup, and something to nibble on before you walk down the aisle! A late-night after party for your closest friends following the reception can also be a great way to continue the celebration even after your time at the venue is up.
Sunday: The Farewell Brunch
10am - 12pm
Brunch is essentially the perfect thank you and send off to your guests. Not only are you providing them with ample time and food to recover from the night’s festivities, but you’re also giving everyone the opportunity to say their goodbyes without the rush. Provide one last act of hospitality before saying goodbye!
