5 Must-Have Items for Your Wedding Welcome Bag
The welcome bag has become a staple for most modern weddings -- particularly for couples with a lot of out-of-town guests in attendance. After all, if you can’t personally greet each and every guest, why not give them a little token of appreciation instead? Of course, there’s definitely an art to creating a wedding welcome bag that everyone will love and appreciate. When you’re gathering items for your welcome bag, be sure to consider incorporating these essential elements:
If there’s a single path to winning over someone, it’s through their stomach.
Chances are that your guests will have a drink or two during the celebration. Make sure they’re prepared for the morning after -- and no, we’re not talking about hair of the dog. Throw in a couple of packets of advil or ibuprofen so your guests can take the edge off before the morning brunch.
Most hotels don’t provide guests with nearly enough water, especially if they’re indulging in libations during your reception. Putting a couple of water bottles into your welcome bag will be a lifesaver for guests.
Wedding Day Helpers
Most hotels usually provide guests with basic toiletries, but if there are any health and beauty items that would be nice to have during the wedding, be sure to include them. This is the perfect touch for any outdoor wedding. Having a midsummer ceremony in a scenic field? Provide a tiny bottle of sunscreen. Throwing an outdoor mountain bash complete with fireside cocktails? Consider packing some bug spray.
A Personal Touch
Incorporate a couple of small items that are significant to you and your beloved. You’re only limited by your creativity. Perhaps you can offer a playlist of your favorite love songs, a pack of mints with your initials, or even a deck of cards featuring images of your cat (who everyone knows and loves, of course).
