Wedding Venue Prices in Texas
Where wedding prices vary significantly depending on the season in northern states, Texas prices fluctuate less dramatically. You may find slightly higher rates in the spring and fall months, but seasons are more likely to affect venue availability rather than price. In the summer, temperatures tend to be very hot, especially when considering outdoor weddings in formal wear, and in the winter, the inclement weather and colder temperature are hard to predict, so the demand for weddings decreases during those times of year.
While heavily dependent on the location, services, and offerings, the average cost per person in and around larger cities, like the ones mentioned, range from $200-$225 per guest, whereas you can expect to pay around $100 or less per guest in West Texas.
In addition to the cost per guest, venues typically charge a 20% service fee, as well as an 8.25% Texas sales tax. Each percentage is taken from the initial cost, so the service fee will not be affected by sales tax and vice versa.

When applying for a Texas marriage license, you will need:
A valid ID (Drivers License, Birth Certificate, Passport, Military ID)
Your Social Security number (Card not required)
In addition to the above, you will need $31-$71 in cash depending on the county for a license fee, which can be waived in its entirety if you both take an 8-hour premarital preparation course. Also, neither you nor your spouse need be a Texas resident for a marriage license.
